I’d like to add a few notes: ‘Abortion should not be covered by a federal health care law except in cases of rape, incest, and life-threatening situations’ How do you propose this would work? Do they have to PROVE they were raped before they can get an abortion? ‘Abortions should be paid for out of pocket in an attempt to dissuade people from having unprotected and reckless sex. Otherwise, people would be getting pregnant left and right with no regard for birth control and the costs would become too much to manage.’ Because we all know that all of those pesky females are just WAITING to get knocked up so they can go and have abortions, because that’s how they get their kicks. Pull your head out. ‘It’s the same with modern welfare-people take advantage of the system.’ Yes, there are people who abuse the welfare system, as well as people who abuse the taxation system, and the health care system as well. But just because a small percentage of people abuse these systems, does that mean no one should have access to them? “Sorry sir, I know you’re 80 years old and incapable of working, but we’ve found out that some people have been abusing this system, so you’re on your own.” ‘A man should have the right to legally prevent a woman from aborting his potential child. However, since having a child is a massive undertaking, the man should be required to pay for all medical costs and reparations, and, if the mother desires it, must take full custody of the child.’ No. Just no. Please stop acting as if it’s okay for anyone to tell someone else what they can do with their body. My body is not just some resource to be used up, and no amount of ‘reparations’ (how crude) could make it one.
